Contract variations in South Australia
What the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA) asks of a variation, and a form that follows it. Fill it in below — the document uses the SA wording.
What the law says
- A variation is itself a domestic building work contract (section 3), so the contract rules in section 28 apply to it: in writing, full terms, signed by both parties, legible, and a copy to the owner as soon as practicable.
- The rules apply to contracts over $20,000 (contracts from 10/11/2025).

What the document prints for SA
Under section 3 of the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA) a variation is itself a domestic building work contract, so section 28 applies: it is in writing, sets out all of its terms, is signed by both parties, and a copy is to be given to the owner as soon as practicable after signing.
The form asks for what every VaryPro document needs: the parties, the site, a description and the priced lines.
