Ask your builder to put the variation in writing
Your builder has told you about a change to the job and what it will cost. Write down what was said, sign it, and we send it to your builder to sign from the link in their email. You both get the signed PDF.
- $9.90 to send it. Your builder signs free, and the preview PDF is free.
- Your builder signs from a link. We email it to them; they sign on a phone or a computer, no app or account. If they won't sign, you're told why.
- Follows your state's rules. It asks for what your state requires and prints its statement, and the PDF ends with a signing record: who signed, when, and from which device.
See a signed example (PDF)A fictional job, signed by both parties.
What goes on it
- What changes, line by line, with the price of each part — work added and work taken out.
- Photos, a quote or a drawing, attached as numbered annexures.
- The net change, GST, the total and the new contract price, worked out as you type.
- When the extra is paid, and whether the finish date moves.
- The wording for the state the house is in, and both signatures.
